How to Use FlyDronePR: The Complete Site Guide

Every page, tool and hidden feature — from the flight map to the cheat-sheet library — explained in one walkthrough.

Welcome aboard, pilot

FlyDronePR is your home base for flying drones in Puerto Rico — education, community, and tools. This guide walks you through every section so you never feel lost on the flight line. Everything is free, and everything works in English and Spanish: tap the EN / ES toggle at the top right anytime.

Beginner Launchpad

New to drones? Start here. Step-by-step first-flight plans, what to buy, and the mistakes to avoid. If you're shopping, the Find My Drone quiz (top right button) recommends a drone for your budget and goals in about a minute.

Rules & Safety

The legal side, in plain language: TRUST, registration, airspace, and Puerto Rico specifics. You'll also find the printable emergency checklist and a link to the Practice Quiz — TRUST and Part 107 practice, plus full timed exam simulators with real FAA charts.

PR Local Flying

The island map. Six signature spots with status guidance, live wind overlay, and community reports. Tap any pin to see conditions or log your own flight ("Flew here today?") — that's also where the photo gallery gets its shots.

Tutorials & Maintenance

Caribbean-proofing your bird: salt-air rinse rituals, monthly maintenance checklists (printable), firmware and battery care.

Guides

You're here. Long-form articles on regulations, technique, and gear — all bilingual, all written from real flight experience.

Field Guide

Fifty printable cheat sheets for drone photography: camera basics, ND filters, composition, Puerto Rico light and weather, DJI Air 3S settings, editing, and video craft. Print any card, print a whole category, or download the full booklet ("Save as PDF"). Every card also has a Share button that creates a branded image for social media.

Gallery

Real aerial photos from real pilots. To share yours: open the upload card at the top, type your location (or pick a suggested spot), attach your photo, and post. Add your callsign and Instagram to climb the Pilot Leaderboard and get your own pilot page. Tap any photo to react with a flame or share it.

My Gear & Logbook

My Gear is a personal inventory (drones, batteries, filters, cards) with Excel export — great for insurance. Logbook records your flights (spot, duration, conditions) and exports to Excel too. Both save privately in your browser — no account needed.

Briefings & Newsletter

Every Sunday we send a briefing with the week's community activity. Subscribe with your email in the footer; you can also enable push alerts for new guides. Past briefings live in the Briefings archive.

GaleriaSocial: our sister photography community — link in the footer and gallery.

Everything is bilingual. If something looks wrong in either language, tell us.
