Your First Flight: A 10-Minute Plan

Your First Flight: A 10-Minute Plan

The exact sequence I walk every new pilot through — from power-on to a safe landing, no crashes required.

Minute 0–2: The ground check

Flat, open ground. Battery locked, props spinning free, phone connected. No takeoff until the app shows green GPS.

Minute 2–4: Hover and hold

Lift to eye level and just hover. Feel the sticks. Small inputs win.

Minute 4–7: The box pattern

Fly a slow square: forward, right, back, left. Nose always away from you.

Minute 7–9: Come home early

Land with 30% battery, not 10%. The drone that lands early flies tomorrow.

Minute 10: Debrief

What felt wrong? Write it down. Every flight is a lesson if you log it.
