Part 3 of the Rookie Series: my Air 3S's first real capture — a golden-hour marina in Ponce — plus where to follow the journey next.
The Shot
Golden hour at Club Náutico de Ponce. The boats lined up like a formation, the sun melting into the water, and me — thirty years of Army service, zero drone hours — holding my breath at 150 feet.
This is the first real aerial photo from my DJI Air 3S. No filters, no edits. Just good light and a steady bird.
What I Learned
Golden hour does the heavy lifting — arrive early and wait for the light
Fly slow over water; the reflection rewards patience
Check the wind first — the live map on this site had my back
One good frame beats a hundred rushed ones
